ABOUT SILO

Šilo is situated at the Nort - East of the island of Krk, the biggest island of about a thousand Adriatic islands. 30 km after the town of Rijeka you can reach the place by getting off the central road and over the bridge of Krk, which is connecting the island with the mainland. After a 20 km drive across the island you will reach Šilo. Šilo is connected by ferry ( 5 min ) with Crikvenica, a place situated on the mainland and very famous for its touristic riviera. The island of Krk has its own airport called " Rijeka ", so it is easy to reach by plane from Europe. Šilo is a typical touristic place ideal for holidays and recreation. Apart from the crystal clear sea, the island has many beautiful valleys with sandy and pebbly beaches ideal for swimming and sun - bathing. The calm sea with a fresh breeze during morning and evening hours gives the possibility for yachting, surfing, jet - skiing, rowing, sailing and others.

The amusement programme consists of organized feasts and festivals. One can also visit old churches, the Etnographic Museum in Dobrinja as well as the cave Biserujka in Rudine.

In the valley of Klimno, situated at about 8 km, there is the possibility of sun - bathing on beaches with healing sands.
